faq

  • How do I join?
Visit our booth at Meet the Greeks and check online back in December for our spring rush schedule! Contact our Rush Chair, Andrew Leslie, at (317)-629-3623 for additional information.
  • How much time will I have to put into KDR?
As sterotypical as it is, you will get out whatever you put into KDR. The first semester in KDR will take more time to learn about our history, organization, and membership. Participating in intramurals and activities is a great way to build brotherhood and enjoy the benefits of a fraternity. After the first semester, students usually learn how to manage their time without sacrificing their other commitments. In addition students can choose to participate in leadership positions.
  • How will my grades be affected?
Contrary to what you may be thinking, brother's grades usually go up after joining! Beyond just a "social" fraternity, KDR is also a fraternity full of intelligent and hardworking men. One of our core values is to support and assist each other in any way possible including academics. As an underclassmen, you will become friends with many people in the fraternity who have a significant amount of experience in what you are going through. These brothers are always more than willing to help with anything from preparing for homework or an exam.
  • Does KDR still practice hazing?
Our chapter and national policy are strongly against all forms of hazing. With KDR you will not have to worry about being put into an intimidating or embarrassing position. As a new member, you are one of our future brothers and are treated as such. Our chapter, national, and university policies regarding hazing are taken very seriously. KDR offers a mental health resource called Kappa Delta Rho Lifeline. Should you have any questions or concerns please direct them to our President, Jacob Hessler.
  • How much does KDR cost?
During your pledge semester, each new member is required to pay a $400.00 due. This due goes towards National Fraternity Insurance, New Member Education Materials, and initiated items once initiated. Scholarship opportunities are available to reduce or eliminate the new member fee. All new members who earn a 3.0 or higher GPA (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester in which they pledge are eligible to receive a $100 scholarship from the Kappa Delta Rho Foundation. The housing and meal plans for brothers who live in is less expensive than that of Purdue's on campus options. Membership dues cover many intramural sports, philanthropies, and apparel.
